Meet the Team

Our (Amazing!) Volunteers

Our volunteers are the reason we exist. They come from every walk of life and each one of them has unique talents. Some are young people gaining experience for work, and others are working to overcome barriers to employment, such as a learning difficulty or mental health issue. Every volunteer has incredible potential and we love to see them surprise themselves with how much they can achieve! By working in the shop, serving customers, and processing online orders they are gaining valuable work experience and skills towards achieving their goal of moving to paid employment.

 Jake Oldrey

Jake is our Acting Manager. Having worked with those with physical and learning disabilities for many years, he is passionate about seeing people overcome barriers to their potential. Jake moved to Gloucester from Nottingham to take the role of Deputy Manager in September 2017, and since then has been working tirelessly to improve our training programme and empower every volunteer to reach their potential. In June 2018 he was promoted to Acting Manager, working towards taking over the manager post fully, ready to take the shop and its volunteers to the next level!
