Tagua Badger Pendant
£24.99This adorable Badger pendant is skillfully hand carved from Tagua* by Darwin who lives in Sosote, Ecuador. Darwin selects a Tagua nut which is as close to the desired finished shape as possible, the nut is then formed using a variety of sanding processes and polished to achieve a smooth surface. The pendant is coloured using textile dyes and then material is carved away to reveal the contrasting natural material below.
* Tagua is nut from a type of palm that grows in the South American jungle. Often known as vegetable ivory, it is a sustainble and environmentally sound alternative to animal ivory.

Tagua may darken slightly over time, this is normal. It can be buffed up with a soft white cotton cloth. Although hardwearing, if dropped on a hard surface tagua could break. Never immerse tagua in water as this can cause it to crack.
